In addition to this, and following Team Abantu’s recent appeal for financial sponsorship, Expand a Sign have pledged a financial contribution to assist the team whilst they continue to pursue a long-term, stable financial partner.

Under the guidance and tutelage of former South African cyclist Dean Edwards, Team Abantu has defied the odds by becoming South Africa’s most successful cycling team on the domestic circuit with podium places week in and week out and have also attained rankings on the international cycling stage.

During this season, Team Abantu have already racked up 10 victories from 17 races, which include the emphatic win by Nolan Hoffman at the Cape Town Cycle Tour for the second year in succession. In addition, three Team Abantu riders were selected for the South African road team to take part in the 10th edition of the UCI 2.1 La Tropicale Amissa Bongo (Tour of Gabon) during February and with a packed calendar in April the team is set on more victories.

"As a socially responsible company, Expand a Sign are proud to support this dynamic team and share their dedication and commitment to cycling, team work and healthy living. We hope our pledge as a financial sponsor encourages other corporates to consider supporting up-and-coming teams such as Team Abantu who need and deserve all the backing and encouragement possible," says Kirsty Fonzari, Expand a Sign brand manager.

Dean Edwards, Team Abantu general manager, thanked Expand a Sign for their financial support and welcomed them on board as a sponsor. "We are proud and grateful to have the opportunity to represent the Expand a Sign brand. It is due to our loyal co-sponsors and service providers that we have managed to keep our team racing at the highest level of this sport in South Africa. This financial contribution has bought us some more time to continue our search for a primary sponsor. We look forward to showing off our newly manufactured team branding and infrastructure."
