The Money Man was given R5000 at the beginning of the Super Rugby season by SA Rugby magazine and increased it six fold by betting on selected matches.

A cheque for R30 250 will be presented to Arende and his family by former Springbok fullback Percy Montgomery at Highbury Safika Media's offices on Wednesday, 8 July

Arende has stage four neuroblastoma, a type of cancer created from immature nerve cells, which can originate anywhere in the body.

The cancer was diagnosed in May 2014, and while he underwent 16 sessions of chemotherapy at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, the treatment he received was no longer sufficient.

The Money Man’s donation will go towards Arende’s topotecan treatment, an expensive medication not available at any local public hospital.
