Top-selling Afrikaans family magazine,
Huisgenoot, now also has a brand-new section on books.

With so many new books constantly making their appearance, even regular visitors to large bookstores can’t keep up with what’s on offer. Now
Huisgenoot makes it easier for booklovers to focus on new titles with a new section devoted to books.
In the launch section in the 11 June issue of the magazine,
Huisgenoot chats to five authors, and gives readers the lowdown on 17 books. There are also many book giveaways and two huge Spots (the loveable dog in the popular Otto series for children) up for grabs. With something for booklovers of all persuasions – serious issues; romance; nostalgia; DIY; and bedtime stories – the new
Huisgenoot book pages are bound to be a hit.
There’s also a huge bonus for learners and teachers: every month, three pages will be devoted to Grade 10, 11 and 12 Afrikaans prescribed works, including a page with learners and teachers’ questions, and answers from experts.
“At
Huisgenoot our aim is to get people to read, so we’re right behind any venture that promotes reading,”
Huisgenoot Editor Esmaré Weideman says.
“It’s a privilege to have a regular book feature in
Huisgenoot. We want to make a contribution to the book industry and give our nearly two million readers access to the wide and wonderful world of books. The one thing that sets our book pages apart from the rest – and makes them even more exciting – is the special focus on prescribed works for learners. We hope it will become a must for learners and teachers.”
