Test your knowledge on BBC Entertainment's QI

Published: 16 May 2011

QI Series 1 premieres with a double bill on Friday, 27 May at 20:30 and 21:05 on BBC Entertainment (DStv channel 120). Actor, comedian, author and all-round British national treasure, Stephen Fry, chairs the impossible comedy quiz show in which the four panellists must answer almost unanswerable questions on the daunting topic of virtually anything in the entire universe.

Test your knowledge on BBC Entertainment's QI
Short for 'Quite Interesting', QI reveals a wealth of quirky useless facts as Stephen asks questions that are so difficult the contestants rarely ever get them right. However, points are not necessarily for the right answer – or even anything related to the question – but for an answer that Stephen deems ‘quite interesting’.

In theory, it is entirely possible for the most ignorant person in the room to win the game. But in reality this rarely happens because the game is booby-trapped to the disastrous disadvantage of anyone who is naive enough to believe the ‘obvious’ clichés, misconceptions and general knowledge – much of which are taught in school – that are, in fact, completely untrue.

Each episode features three TV personalities along with the hapless Alan Davies, who must try to impress Stephen and gain points by giving him the most interesting answers, and avoiding the huge penalties dished out for unwittingly stating the (incorrect) 'obvious'.
