Pendoring welcomes eNuus to its fold as a bronze sponsor

South Africa’s only independent Afrikaans TV news service has announced its support for the Pendoring Advertising Awards. Well aware of the importance of Afrikaans to reach the hearts and minds of this community through advertising, eNuus has come on board as a bronze sponsor.

Pendoring GM Franette Klerck says that eNuus’ decision to join the growing list of Pendoring sponsors is a feather in Pendoring’s cap. “Pendoring is truly honoured that this dynamic and vibrant Afrikaans news service has come on board. Only through strong and continued sponsorship support can the importance and role of mother-tongue advertising be effectively conveyed to all stakeholders.”

Adds eNuus news editor Andries Cornelissen: “eNuus is still a young brand, and a bronze sponsorship of the awards is fitting as it affords the channel an ideal opportunity to build on its brand awareness. The Pendoring Awards have a long history of awarding excellence in the Afrikaans advertising industry; we believe this is an important initiative to support.”

The nightly news casts at 19:00 quickly found favour with Afrikaans viewers after its launch in July 2010. According to Cornelissen, eNuus is consistently in the top 10 programmes on kykNET and the audience is growing. “We are proud to be able to offer South Africa its first-ever independent Afrikaans TV news service. For tens of thousands of viewers we have become their news service of choice,” says Cornelissen.

Advertisers who speak to this lucrative target market in their home language may well be pleasantly surprised by their support and loyalty, he reckons.
