Siyayinqoba Beat It! deals with the growing problem of obesity

Published: 5 June 2012

On 7 June, Siyayinqoba Beat It! deals with the growing problem of obesity in South Africa. A dietician talks about how modern living and the consumer culture contribute to this problem of obesity, particularly among children. A balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle do not need to cost a lot of money. It’s simply about common sense, fresh fruit and vegetables and a bit of exercise.

Siyayinqoba Beat It! is a weekly TV show for everyone living with HIV and Aids, as well as their partners, families, friends and caregivers. Since 1999, the show has provided a platform for people living with Aids to share their challenges and victories. Many people living in isolation with HIV find that through Siyayinqoba Beat It! they are part of a vibrant and growing community of people who are meeting and beating the challenges of Aids. Siyayinqoba Beat It! is broadcast on SABC1 on Thursdays at 13:30 and produced by Community Media Trust in partnership with SABC Education.
