Glory days, magic of the Eighties at Boksburg Barnyard

Published: 25 June 2012

One of Barnyard Theatre’s first and greatest shows of all time is back. Don't miss Glory days at Boksburg Barnyard Theatre.

The hit, sell-out show Glory days was among the first ever produced by Duck Chowles of The Barnyard Theatre Productions. It’s back - bigger and better, featuring a few of the original cast members. Take a ride through the 80s.

A taste of a few of the rocking songs you can look forward to in Glory days:

Get Down On It
Dancing On The Ceiling
Never Gonna Give You Up
Karma Chameleon
Pride (In The Name of Love)
That's What Friends Are For
I Will Survive
Simply The Best
It's Raining Men
Buffalo Soldier
Red Red Wine
Wake Me Up Before You Go Go
Glory Days
Old Time Rock 'n Roll
Summer of '69

Meet Wally - a hilarious computer nerd the show is centred around, who wants to become a rock star just like his hero, Bruce Springsteen.

Be prepared to rock the night away to hits from Lionel Ritchie, Tina Turner, U2, Bob Marley, Bryan Adams, Bruce Springsteen, UB 40 and many more.

Glory days features the flamboyant Ramaine Barreiro-Lloyd on female lead vocals who pays tribute to Shirley Bassey, Gloria Gaynor, Whitney Houston and more. Andrew Webster and Granville Michaels are featured on male lead vocals and pay tribute to artists like Rick Astley, Boy George, Richard Marx, Stevie Wonder, Wham!, Bob Seger and more.

Ralph Martin on guitar plays a powerful tribute to Gary Moore with the ultimate Eighties rock anthem Still got the Blues. The show also features our own South African artists with tributes to Johnny Clegg, Savuka and Mango Groove.

Experience the power and the rhythm of those Glory days with the magic of the Eighties.
