In Blood to be performed at PE Opera House in August

Published: 13 July 2012

Bookings have opened for In Blood, a disability theatre production by African Sinakho Arts which runs at the Port Elizabeth Opera House from 2 to 5 August in partnership with the National Department of Rural Development and Land Reform.

Written and directed by Bukelwa Cakata, and conceptualised and co- produced by Ndileka Santi, the production showcases the wide-ranging talent and commitment of a cast of 80 performers with various disabilities who share the limelight with able bodied dancers.

The show is a continuation of a national tour that was launched at the State Theatre in November last year and touched Mpumalanga Mbomblea Civic Theatre in April this year. The production seeks to entertain audiences with a unique blend of originally composed songs, popular wedding songs, drama, dance, poetry and much more.

The duration of the show is two hours including a 20 minute interval.

Tickets cost R100 for evening shows, R80 for matinees and R40 for students. Booking is through Computicket on 0861 915 8000 or the Opera House Box Office on 041 395 9500. Performances are at 18.30 on Thursday, 2 August; at 14:00 on Friday, 3 August, 19:00 on Saturday, 4 August and 14:00 on Sunday 5 August.
