Historically, mainstream media has demonstrated limited appetite to cover local content thus depriving the metro citizens in particular with news that they can use in their immediate lives. In its first edition The Society newspaper delivered local content that was thought provoking, inspiring, uplifting and informative.

The publication provided in-depth coverage of news, sports, entertainment, and lifestyle and community desk. Guest columns and features on topical issues completed the issue. With 40 000 copies going out every two weeks the paper is guaranteed to penetrate the market and provide services to a substantial percentage of our people in the metro.

True to its word The Society newspaper has recently signed service level agreements with reputable partners in Bay TV and Damelin private College. These will further enhance the papers ability to communicate effectively with its audience. The paper`s owner and director, Thulani Faku continues to work tirelessly to recruit the very best of the young talent available, giving "opportunities to deserving young people is something very close to my hurt" he proudly proclaims.

"The values that define our newspaper are good corporate governance, honesty and unbiased reporting and unwavering commitment to our stake stakeholders," he concludes.
