Date My Dad, one of
Jacaranda FM’s most successful promotions, made a return to the airwaves – calling for kids to nominate their dad as South Africa’s most dateable.
Since 23 July, nominations have been streaming into
Jacaranda FM from kids who are convinced that their dad will sweep any potential missus off her feet. After a stringent vetting process two finalists were identified: 35-year old Willie Nel, a safety contract coordinator from Witbank and 34-year-old Meran Wilson, an application developer from Centurion.
On this morning’s edition of The Complimentary Breakfast, the team chose the dad who can cook, fix anything and who is a super nice guy – namely: Meran Wilson who is now
Jacaranda FM’s most dateable dad for 2012.
According to Wilson’s son, the 6-year-old Kieren, and daughter, 4-year old Isabel, he is the ultimate in awesome: he is “really tall”, designs applications for Appster in Australia and is really good at building and fixing things (including tree houses, bikes and games).
He likes rock music, especially good SA rock music, series like
Game of Thrones and
House and movies like
Prometheus. He not only loves lasagne, a good Merlot, Bacardi & lemonade or a good beer, but also cooks really nice food himself. He is a kind and funny guy who is as passionate about skiing, snowboarding and motorbikes as he is about reading. Good looking, well balanced and loads of fun
Wilson will be joining Van Heerden and the team in-studio every morning this week – starting on Wednesday, 1 August – so we can get to know him better and see who will be contending for the title of 'Mrs. Wilson'. Who will he choose to take on those dream dates at Emperors Palace? Five lucky women will get a chance to see if they can steal his heart – but only one will be chosen to be his new love. For the drama, tune in to the
Jacaranda FM Complimentary Breakfast every weekday morning between 06:00 and 10:00 or visit
