About the Author:
R. van Niekerk was born and raised in the heart of the apartheid era in an impoverished community of Strand on the outskirts of Cape Town, South Africa. He is the eldest and only biological child in a family of seven, which includes three sisters and three younger brothers. Both his parents are still alive and Van Niekerk receives their support and encouragement to follow his dreams. Against the odds of an inferior education system (he does not had any formal or tertiary education), Van Niekerk grew himself out of the ‘norms of society’ and what is generally accepted by the masses to prove not only to his friends and peers but mostly to himself that if he set his mind, he could achieve whatever he wished. Memowars of a Schizophrenic
