Published: 6 December 2012

Ster-Kinekor brings all the major movie titles from across the globe to its big screens across the country, for audiences to enjoy this holiday season.

In line with this, two major Bollywood titles grace the big screen this December, with the release of Khiladi 786 on Friday, 7 December, and Dabangg 2 two weeks later, on Friday, 21 December.

Both films boast big names and feature wonderful music and dance that is expected from blockbuster Bollywood titles. Fans in Durban can look forward to Khiladi 786 as well as Dabangg 2 at Ster-Kinekor Gateway, while Johannesburg audiences will be able to experience all the thrills and action of Dabangg 2 (from Friday, 21 Decmber) at Ster-Kinekor The Zone in Rosebank.

Eros International presents Khiladi 786. Akshay Kumar stars in the role of hero Khiladi in this larger-than-life action comedy film, which also celebrates, after 12 years, his return to the role that he made famous in the Khiladi film series. Playing the female lead opposite Kumar, in the role of Indu Tendulkar, is actress Asin Thottumkal, who is excited at the prospect of wearing a Kashta saree, Maharashtrian-style. This roller-coaster ride of a film features music, romance, comedy and action-packed adventure from start to finish.

Mithun Chakraborty, Paresh Rawal and Himesh Reshammiya also appear in pivotal roles in Khiladi 786. The film is directed by Ashish R Mohan. It is produced for HariOm Entertainment Company and HR Musik by Twinkle Khanna, Sunil Lulla and Himesh Reshammiya, who composed the wonderful music for the film and is also part of the stellar cast.

In the Indian masala film, Dabangg 2, Salman Khan returns to the big screen as Chulbul Pandey in the second adventure of one of the most successful franchises of all time in Indian cinema – and, one of the most anticipated Bollywood films of 2012. Starring opposite Khan in the lead role is rising young star, Sonakshi Sinha.

Prakash Raj plays the role of the main protagonist, and the film also stars Vinod Khanna, Deepak Dobriyal and Nikitan Dheer in supporting roles. Directed by Arbaaz Khan and produced by Khan and his wife, Malaika Arora Khan, for Arbaaz Khan Productions in association with Shree Ashtavinayak, the film is the sequel to the box-office sensation of 2012, Dabangg.

In Dabangg 2, set in the city of Kanpur, Chulbul Pandey has to battle the evil goon-turned-politician Baccha Bhaiyyaa, all the while trying to strengthen his family ties with his father and brother, romance his newly-wedded wife and remain true to ‘Dabangg’ (fearless), no matter the circumstances.

A highlight of the film is the special feature, musical number performed by Kareena Kapoor, which is anticipated to be a major drawcard.
South African audiences are included in the international releases of both these major Bollywood titles, Khiladi 786 and Dabangg 2, on Friday, 7 and Friday, 21 December respectively.
