The South African Advertising Research Foundation (SAARF) has revealed in its latest AMPS presentation that online and broadcast media are increasing their audience numbers, while print media has seen a decline in readership in the July 2009 to June 2010 statistics count.

Independent Newspapers goes online
Independent Newspapers South Africa, has gone digital in a new and exciting way with E-dition, a digital version of the real thing. A newspaper can be read online in its true printed format from anywhere in the world, and the E-ditions are enhanced with the latest digital tools, including RSS feeds, social networking, blogging and much more.
There are just nine shows left of the one-man hit comedy that has had Johannesburg talking these past weeks; Happy Shabalala. It stars multi-award winning performer and producer Harry Sideropoulos. It is being staged at The Fringe at the Joburg Theatre and will now be closing next Saturday, 21 November.
According to the Saturday Star, Independent News & Media (INM) has announced that its position of financial standstill with bondholders, since May, has been extended once again. This time, it is expected to last until 27 August. INM was due to repay €200-million to bondholders on 17 May.
Icasa wants more time for digital TV
According to the Saturday Star, the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) will ask Communications Minister, Siphiwe Nyanda, to review the time-frame for the migration from analogue to digital television.
