SABC radio stations scoop 30 awards at MTN <i>Radio Awards</i> 2013
SABC radio stations scooped no less than 30 awards at the fourth MTN Radio Awards held at the Sandton Convention Centre on Saturday, 13 April.
SABC has been announced as the broadcast partner of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, which takes place on Friday, 5 and Saturday, 6 April at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
Born on the Caribbean island of Dominica, and having lived in Amsterdam, St Lucia and London before settling in South Africa while travelling to Montreal, New York, Switzerland respectively.

Radio ratings undisturbed by World Cup
On Thursday, 12 August, the South African Advertising Research Foundation (SAARF) presented the results of the third RAMS release for the year. This was a combined rolling wave of two fieldwork periods, including data collected from mid-March to early May, and early May to the beginning of July. This was the last release to use the small urban/ rural sample from 2009.

Radio continues stable streak
The 15 June 2010 RAMS release by the South African Advertising Research Foundation (SAARF) combined the mid-January to mid-March wave, and the mid-March to mid-May wave. The fieldwork period included the large urban component and the June sample consisted of 25 693 diary keepers, amounting to an average of 2.5 diaries per household. Radio’s use of online to engage with listeners
Kerryn Le Cordeur has noticed that the trend is for radio stations to branch out into other media platforms to reach listeners at several points of consumption, and where they are most eager to engage with what the station has to offer. Looking at the current interest in all things online- and social media-related, it makes sense that several local stations have been upping their online presence.
