Egg Films’ Sunu directed M&C Saatchi Abel’s new Bakers ad. After a successful collaboration on Freshpak Rooibos earlier this year, Sunu jumped at the opportunity to work with M&C Saatchi Abel again and add his signature touch of warmth to another South African brand.
Sunu loves directing children, but working with the cast was particularly special this time as M&C Saatchi Abel picked his son, Joshua Gonera, in his first lead role. “Working with my boy was a dream come true. He was an absolute professional and even called me Mr. Director,” laughs Sunu. “I’m ticking this one off the bucket list.”
Sunu also enjoyed working closely with Sinister to bring the factory to life in post production. Rory O’Grady shot the commercial, which was edited by Gordon Midgley at Riot.
