Five finalists have been selected from various campuses across the Peninsula in the Good Hope FM Campus DJ search, and now each finalist is given the opportunity to co-host a show on Good Hope FM in order to help the judges and listeners determine who the winner will be that will walk away with a one year DJ contract on Good Hope FM.

“It is well known that Cape Town has an abundance of talent and I was pleased to see that this is not reserved for big national talent shows only. The judges had a tough time identifying the top talent and the finalist got their work cut out if they want to claim the prize and title of Good Hope FM Campus DJ Champ,” says Good Hope FM Programme Manager, Gerard Muller.

The five finalists have been selected and now they’re ready to fight till the bitter end. Who will emerge victorious? Who will walk off with the title? Who will be the Good Hope FM Campus DJ of 2010? Listeners are invited to listen to the five battle it out on That Radio Show (Mondays to Thursday between 22:00 and 02:00) presented by Ebrahiem Inglis, starting on Monday, 8 March.

The finalists are:
Dalin Oliver from University of Cape Town (UCT) who will be on air on Monday, 8 March;
Graeme Raubenheimer from Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) Bellville who will be on air on Tuesday, 9 March;
Nosipo Tisani from CPUT Cape Town who will be on air on Wednesday, 10 March;
Tamsin Haley from University of Stellenbosch who will be on air on Thursday, 11 March; and
Siphokuhle Tembani from the University of the Western Cape (UWC) who will be on air on Monday, 15 March.

The aim of this search was to find the best on air DJ from campuses around the city. Campuses that agreed to participate in this search were UCT; UWC; Stellenbosch University; and CPUT Cape Town and Bellville.

Listeners can now vote for their favourite finalist by sending an SMS. Potential voters must SMS the word 'campus' and the name of the finalist they want to win to 33035 before midnight on 18 March. (SMSes are charged at R1.50 each.) Listeners’ votes will be tallied up with the final votes from the panel of judges before the winner is decided on. The winner will be announced on Friday, 19 March and will be offered a one year on-air DJ contract on Good Hope FM.

“The response from the various campuses was amazing and beyond what we expected, each campus brought their unique style and talent but they all showed the same enthusiasm. Realising the untapped talent at the institutions, we are keen to make this event an annual one,” says Good Hope FM’s Marketing Manager, Meegan Kieffer.

“The station was well received by all the campuses and we want to thank them for their vibrant and friendly hospitality,” says Gerard Muller

The panel of judges comprise Gerard Muller (Programme Manager); Kurt Meyer (Programming); Grant Lesch (Programming); Nigel Pierce (Presenter of the Nigel Pierce Show); Ready D (Presenter of the Ready D Show); and Natano Brache (Station Manager).
