KWV Brandy is the proud sponsor of the Brandy Boulevard. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste the premium range of brandies from KWV and meet KWV’s renowned Chief Brandy Master, Kobus Gelderblom.

Creating a world-class brandy is dependent on the professional craftsmanship of KWV’s team of brandy making experts. “The tradition of potstill distillation and maturation in oak barrels is the secret underlying KWV’s premium portfolio of 3; 5; 10; 15; and 20 Year Old brandies”, says Adele Burmeister, Category Manager for the South Africa spirits portfolio at KWV. Each brandy develops a unique flavour; colour; aroma; and taste profile. Over the years, KWV has won many accolades for its brandy.

During 2009 the quality of KWV’s brandies were reinforced by numerous awards received. The KWV 15 Year Old won a Gold Medal at the 16th edition of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2009. Brandy makers from all corners of the globe enter this international competition yearly. The 15 Year Old was further awarded with the prestigious Brandy Trophy for the best brandy at the Michelangelo International Wine Awards.

In 2008 KWV released a Limited Edition KWV Founders Reserve Brandy. This brandy celebrated KWV’s 90 years of existence. Only 1918 bottles, each numbered for collection purposes were produced. This premium brandy won a gold medal for its superior taste and quality at the 40th anniversary International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) in London in 2009. “We are extremely proud of our quality brandies and believe that these awards show our commitment to creating world-class brandies,” adds Burmeister.
