The Media Connection, South Africa’s community radio advertising specialist, was recently signed up by the International Marketing Council’s Play Your Part - a nationwide campaign created to inspire, empower and celebrate active citizenship in South Africa - to launch a Mobi-site advertising campaign via its community radio stations.
Driven by the International Marketing Council of South Africa, the custodian of Brand South Africa, the Play Your Part Mobi campaign is being run by The Media Connection’s Mobi specialist, The Mobi Connection, on 21 community radio stations across South Africa until March 2012. The aim is to drive listeners to that particular station’s Mobi-site.
Play Your Part’s objective is to lift the spirit of our nation by inspiring all South Africans to contribute to positive change, become involved and start doing – because a nation of people who care deeply for one another and the environment in which they live is good for everyone.
“The Mobi Connection offers SMS and Mobi-sites and many of our stations have a well run in-studio SMS dashboard, short code and Mobi-site,” explains Debbie Williams, manager of The Mobi Connection.
“Mobi-sites offer our advertisers added leverage for their brand, which means that they no longer have to market to an entire demographic with one campaign using just radio. The Mobi-sites offer Play Your Part the opportunity to fine-tune their campaign to a targeted audience, to get measurable results and most importantly real time data,” she adds.
“Our aim is provide our advertisers with a greater return on their investment,” says Judy Milne, director of The Media Connection.
“We want our portfolio of community radio stations to be more attractive and relevant to advertisers, in light of where the industry is moving. The station’s listeners will now also be able to communicate with their favourite stations in a unique and more effective manner.”
