“At campus radio I hosted everything from the Top 30 to the afternoon drive show and more recently the breakfast show for the last three years," says Forbes. "I’m incredibly excited to be joining the team at 5FM. It’s an absolute dream come true for me and it represents the culmination of years of hard work. The opportunity to be able to ‘live’ a brand like 5FM is an immense privilege and I cannot wait to share my own relaxed, fun and informative style on the new 9:00 to 12:00 show.”

Joining him behind the mic will be show contributor Fikile ‘Fix’ Moeti, who’s back on 5FM after an 18-month gap to pursue her studies overseas. Says Moeti, “5FM will always be family to me. For the last year I’ve been overseas studying business entrepreneurship at an arts campus in America. I can’t tell you how glad I am to be back home. I ‘m very excited to be working with Rob Forbes.”

There’s another new show hitting the airwaves from April. Early Sunday nights are a time to chill out with a new show hosted by Poppy Ntshongwana. Sunday nights from 17:00 to 19:00 is all about music that’s familiar and nostalgic... think music from just the other day. Ntshongwana will be bringing back recent old school hits plus Top 40 shakers.

5FM is also strengthening its late-night line-up, with Angela Guastella moving into the 00:00 to 3:00 slot while Nicole da Silva takes over from 3:00 to 6:00.
