SABC1 will be screening a new local drama mini-series, Crossing the Line from Thursday, 12 April. The three-part series is a contemporary political thriller that confronts some of the dilemmas around power and corruption in the new South Africa. The story sees journalist, Mandla Kunene (Thulane Nyembe), investigate allegations of corruption linked to a prominent government minister. The tip-off comes from the minister’s mistress - Irene. Mandla is only half interested but when Irene appears to have been pushed over her 6th floor balcony, Mandla takes up the story. The supporting cast consists of top South African actors including Lionel Newton, Fana Mokoena, Thembi Seete, Mmambatho Mogomotsi, Percy Matsemela, Akin Omotoso, Gloria Moshoeshoe, Fiona Ramsay, Jerry Mofokeng and Hlomla Dandala. Crossing the Line is produced by Steven Markovits, and is written and directed by Brian Tilley. Catch the show on 12, 19, and 26 April, only on SABC1.
