"Eurobest is unique as a creative festival in that it traditionally moves around Europe from year to year. After the incredible success in Lisbon last year, we have made the decision to stay there another year to allow us to build on the success and to further develop Eurobest into an even greater festival and awards," comments Philip Thomas, CEO of Lions Festivals, organisers of Eurobest. "The immense support that we received from the Portuguese creative industries, the City of Lisbon and our official representative in Portugal, Multimedia Outdoors Portugal, will without doubt assist us in accomplishing our goal. There will be a lot to look forward to," he continued.

António Costa, mayor of Lisbon, commented: "We are very pleased with the decision to organise the fifth edition of Eurobest in the city of Lisbon for the second consecutive time. Lisbon is strongly committed in integrating the Eurobest Festival in the city's strategy for economy and innovation and to make this event a success, not only for Lisbon but also at a global scale."

"Lisbon is a truly creative city, a place where you can explore new motivations, experiences and innovations. We want to position Lisbon in the global networks of value creation and the Eurobest Festival is a special event that contributes to increase the city's competitiveness. I invite all to come to Lisbon and enjoy this beautiful city!" he continued.

Attendees to this year’s Eurobest event can look forward to an outstanding seminar and workshop programme presented by industry thought-leaders discussing and addressing current challenges and developments faced by European agencies, view the latest work that’s judged on-site by top creatives and communication professionals, network with peers at daily fun and informal evening events, attend the awards to discover the 2012 Eurobest winners and celebrate successes at Eurobest’s unique after-party. Other innovations will be announced in due course.

An Integrated Young Creative Competition, exhibitions and screenings of the competing work, a new Young Marketers Academy and the Eurobest Student Academy are other activities and opportunities enjoyed by the Eurobest participants.

In 2011, 1 300 delegates from 36 countries congregated in Lisbon to attend Eurobest honouring European creative excellence in communications. Over 4 800 entries were judged by eight juries, with 398 Eurobest trophies awarded. Previous Eurobest host cities have been Stockholm, Amsterdam and Hamburg. While Eurobest as a festival was introduced five years ago, the Eurobest Awards celebrates 25 years.
