The Muvo SmartCard was initially tested on the PeopleMover buses. The first 1,000 lucky passengers that received the Muvo SmartCard and the informative Z-CARD®, received free trips to the value of R50.

“Just a small thank you from us for being part of the test run to ensure that we iron out any problems before the service is launched to the entire Durban Transport bus service,” says eThekwini Municipality’s project manager, Michelle Pearton.
Produced in English on one side and Zulu on the other, the content of the Z-CARD® includes information on how to use the Muvo SmartCard – where to get and the load the card, how to use the card to purchase goods and services, using the card safely and securely, what it costs to purchase as well as the PeopleMover fares.

“We selected a Z-CARD® as it folds into the same size as a bank card. This made it ideal for the launch of our Muvo SmartCard as we can insert it and the Muvo SmartCard into a plastic key ring pouch, which makes a great information pack for our passengers,” says Pearton.

“We are very happy with the service received from PocketMedia® Solutions. The company met our delivery deadline, in spite of very tight time frames. We will be using the Z-CARD® folders for the roll-out of Muvo to the Durban Transport and PeopleMover passengers, totalling just over 50,000 people,” she adds.
