Donna Moodley joins the team as a Leisure sales executive. Her passion for the hospitality industry started in London, where she worked for Maybourne Hotel Group, formerly known as The Savoy Hotel group. There she took on the role of reservation sales co-ordinator for The Connaught, The Berkeley and Claridges, before returning to Cape Town and joining the sales team at the Mount Nelson Hotel. She later moved to Extraordinary Marketing Concepts, where she was responsible for selling luxury hotels and lodges in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana. “With her experience in sales, both for international and local luxury hotels and lodges, Donna will be a huge asset to our expanding team”, says Willie Williams, director of Sales and Marketing at Taj Cape Town.

Also joining the Taj’s dynamic team is Shahieda Swanepoel, who will assume the role of reservations manager in Cape Town. Swanepoel boasts a colourful and varied history in the local hospitality industry, having worked for some of the country’s most renowned hotel groups. She started her career at the Devon Valley Hotel 10 years ago, after which she spent a year at the Peninsula Hotel as a Senior Banqueting Co-ordinator. Shahieda then joined Sun International in 2004, where she worked at the Sun City Resort, assisting as an Events and Incentives Co-ordinator before being promoted to Assistant Front Office Manager at the Palace Hotel.

In 2008, Swanepoel relocated to Cape Town, joining The Table Bay Hotel in the Groups & Events Department before taking over as the groups and events manager. After seven years of dedicated service, she took on the role of reservations manager at the Mount Nelson Hotel in May 2011.
