This guerilla flash-mob-with-a-difference, initiated by heat magazine, was done completely under-wraps from the event organisers, as no media were allowed into the stadium for this event.

The pinnacle of this successful plot was when a Little Heat Monster, who joined her on stage, gave her a mask, which she then held up to her face after recognising it as one of the 500 faces she’d noticed staring back at her from the Monster Pit.

“Lady Gaga is the biggest pop star in the world, and heat wanted to do something special for her during her first concert in South Africa. The heat masks is a token of our love for her wacky style and incredible star power. heat was at the airport to welcome her to our country on arrival, and we'll continue to follow her movements during her stay in the country. For live updates on all things Gaga, follow us on @heatSouthAfrica with hashtag #heatmonster”, says heat editor, Andre Neveling.
