After working and training with illustrious companies, such as the Handspring Puppet Company and the UK’s Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), Nkosinathi Joachim Gaar is at the helm of this production, joining forces with the Department of Drama And Film (Drama) to deliver a performance of The Crucible unlike any seen before.

Through fusing Handspring’s fantasy work with the RSC’s rock-solid classical sensibilities, the show is able to boast a unique theatricality.

The Crucible will run for one week only and will offer audiences an opportunity to partake on a scale not commonly seen on South African stages.

The production will be staged at the Breytenbach Theatre from Tuesday, 25 February until Saturday, 1 March at 19:00, with matinees on Wednesday, 26 February and Saturday, 1 March at 15:00.

Tickets cost R40 for adults and R25 for students.
