Quizzical Pictures garners an impressive 30 SAFTA nominations

Nominations for Swartwater include:

- Best TV Drama;
- Best Achievement in Directing for a TV Drama for the Swartwater directing team;
- Best Achievement in Scriptwriting for a TV Drama for Helène Truter;
- Best Achievement in Original Score for a TV Drama for Brendan Jury;
- Best Achievement in Art Design for a TV Drama for Marna Heunis;
- Best Achievement in Costume Design for a TV Drama for Brenda Khambule;
- Best Actress in a TV Drama for Jana Strydon; and
- Best Actor in a TV Drama for Louw Venter.

In the Feature Film category, Quizzical Pictures’ hit action movie, iNumber Number, about an honest undercover cop who is cheated out of a reward by his corrupt superiors and joins a cash-in-transit heist gang for a once off score, has garnered six nominations.

Nominations for iNumber Number include:

- Best Feature Film;
- Best Achievement in Directing for Donovan Marsh;
- Best Achievement in Scriptwriting for Donovan Marsh;
- Best Achievement in Editing for Donovan Marsh;
- Best Achievement in Cinematography – Tom Marais; and
- Best Actor in a Lead Role – S’dumo Mtshali.

Other nominations for productions by Quizzical include:

Rhythm City received four nominations in the TV Soap categories:

- Best TV Soap for Rhythm City
- Best Achievement in Scriptwriting of a TV Soap for the Rhythm City writing team;
- Best Achievement in Sound for a TV Soap for Willie Nieuwoudt for Rhythm City; and
- Best Actor in a Lead Role for a TV Soap for Jamie Bartlett for Rhythm City.

Lastborn does the Loeries, about a commercial prodigy who has always dreamed of making it big, goes on a quest to finally get his big break when he discovers that the Loerie Awards is where the who’s who in advertising gather once a year, received three nominations in the TV Comedy category.

- Best TV Comedy for Lastborn does the Loeries;
- Best Cinematography TV Comedy for Moabi Maseko for Lastborn does the Loeries; and
- Best Editing TV Comedy for Kholofelo Malatshi for Lastborn does the Loeries.

Clover Little Big Cook Off, where family cooking teams consisting of one big cook and one little cook compete for the ultimate prize and the Tropika Island of Treasure, where six contestants battle it out in various tasks and challenges to win R1-million, have both received nominations in the Game Show category.

- Best Game Show for Clover Little Big Cook Off; and
- Best Game Show for Tropika Island of Treasure, Season 6.

Single Guys, about three male friends navigating the world of dating, and its spin-off series, Single Galz, about three female friends making all the wrong moves in the world of relationships, were both nominated in the TV Comedy category.

- Best Art Design TV Comedy for Amanda Van Wyngaardt for Single Galz;
- Best Art Design TV Comedy – Vallery Groenewald for Single Guys;
- Best Make-up and Hairstyling TV Comedy for Hilda Sebiloane for Single Galz;
- Best Costume Design TV Comedy for Lulu Dukashe for Single Galz;
- Best Costume Design TV Comedy for Brenda Khambule for Single Guys;
- Best Actor for a TV Comedy for Thabo Malema for Single Guys; and
- Best Actor for a TV Comedy for Thomas Gumede for Single Guys.
