A few members of the team including DJ Fresh, Nick Hamman, Milkshake, Poppy Ntshongwana and Nicole Da Silva will be participating in the Cape Cycle Tour on Sunday, 8 March. But in true 5FM fashion, the station has planned for a lot more than just the race, there are live broadcasts, a Youngblood5 initiative and a few parties thrown in for good measure.

DJ Warras kicks off the weekend with an outside broadcast from Stones on Thursday, 8 March night from 19:00 to 22:00. This will be followed by a Live Loud party at Tin Roof in Claremont with DJ Warras, Tumi Voster and Cape Town-based DJ Mixi.

More live broadcasts will be hosted by Roger Goode and Thomas Msengana from Friday, 6 March to Sunday, 8 March.

On Saturday, 7 March the team will be heading to Baphumelele Educare Centre in Khayelitsha to do their bit by giving back to the community. 5FM will be handing over some donated consumables from their listeners for the centre and spend a few hours with the children. If listeners would like to donate non-perishable foods and children’s books, collection points have been arranged at Canal Walk Information Visitors Centre, SABC offices in Sea Point and at the live broadcast at Weekend Breakfast with 5FM’s Thomas at the African Pride Crystal Towers Hotel in Century City.

The culmination of the weekend’s activities will end with the Cape Cycle Tour, which DJs Fresh, Milkshake, Poppy, Nicole da Silva, Nick Hamman will be riding.
