This all-time children’s classic is directed by Keith Smith and Jill Girard, who say: “The Peoples Theatre is delighted to announce that they have secured the performance rights to Disney’s The Jungle Book Kids. This ensures that not only will South African audiences be entertained by the magic of Disney's treatment of Rudyard Kipling's classic story but the wonderful songs will bring all the essential ingredients that will make this a memorable experience.”
 
Resident set designer Grant Knottenbelt has added some dramatic additions to Marius Boshoff’s original spectacular Jungle set - a visual treat that will guarantee excitement from start to finish. Smith does all the musical staging, and Linda Wilson will ensure that the costumes will bring the characters to life in every way.
 
The adaptation of Kipling’s classic story of little boy named Mowgli and his host of animal friends in the jungle has been a hit with children since the stories were published in 1893.The People’s Theatre production of Disney’s The Jungle Book Kids features a cast of professional actors and children who will weave their way through the jungle, capturing the imagination of every child in the audience while allowing them to participate in the action of this much-loved favourite.
 
The cast of this all-new production includes Stefan Carstens as Bagheera; Germandt Geldenhuys as Baloo; Thiart Li as Shere Khan, Colonel Hathi and King Louie; Jaydene Marais as Kaa; Nompumelelo Mayiyane as Mrs Hathi and Mrs Louie; and carefully chosen talented children who will be playing various roles, including the role of Mowgli, played by Karabo Oberem, Ben Wefelmeier and Jesse Fisher.
 
Come and meet all Mowgli’s unforgettable friends in this colourful production. Sing and dance along while Mowgli learns valuable life lessons on his journey to the Man Village, where he belongs.
