KFM and CapeTalk have mobilised to raise the much needed funds through a radiothon. Primedia Cape Town has come to a halt as staff are manning the phones to take calls for pledges coming in. All funds raised will go to Volunteer Wildlife Fire Services and other organisations who are currently at the forefront of the blaze taking over the Cape.

KFM and CapeTalk station manager, Colleen Louw says, "The stations prides itself on being close to what the community’s needs are. At the moment there is an outcry for people to come together and do good. I am not surprised by the good Capetonians are doing."

The Cape Town Primedia radio has altered programming to raise the much needed resources and equipment through a pledge line. People wanting to make a difference can call the hotline on +27 21 446 4837.

About 4000 hectares of land have been affected and a total of 13 houses have been evacuated.
