The Indie Book Fair, which takes place from Friday, 20 to Saturday, 21 March is being organised by not-for-profit organisation African Narratives (AFNA), who are committed to the development of local literature in South Africa. AFNA sees the versatility of independent publishing as the natural medium to stimulate the production of high-quality books through which South Africans will be encouraged to write and read about their specific stories.

Taylor will deliver her Keynote Speech at the Fair’s venue – Sunnyside Park Hotel in Johannesburg. Her talk, Broadening Horizons: The expanding opportunities and freedom of self-publishing, encompasses the diversity and choices available for indie authors.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be giving the Keynote Speech at the Indie Book Fair – it is such an honour. One of the best things about self-publishing is the freedom it affords anyone, from anywhere, to self-publish their book, and I’m pleased to be speaking about this. The values Matador brings to self-publishing dovetail with the aim of the Indie Book Fair, and we’re excited to be attending the event and supporting new, emerging markets,” says Taylor.

The Indie Book Fair 2015 will be open from 09:00 to 17.30 on Friday, 20th and Saturday, 21 March. Entry is R10 with children under 12 getting in free. Tickets can be bought at the door or from Computicket.
