Autism South Africa is the recognised, authoritative and representative national body for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in South Africa. The largest autism advocacy organisation in Southern Africa, Autism South Africa aims to ensure a meaningful quality of life for people with ASD by developing and strengthening services on a national basis while also increasing public awareness of ASD.

Autism South Africa will be shining a light on autism acceptance for World Autism Awareness Day on Thursday, 2 April and is participating in the international ‘Light it up Blue’ campaign. In 2015, the Sharks rugby team will be showing their support for the campaign by playing in blue on Saturday, 21 March.

Newsclip staff will also wear blue on Friday, 2 April in support of Autism Awareness Day and to recognise the importance of this cause.
