The move to embrace change and shift the timeslots plus increase the number of daily shows has been made with the goal of offering the listener even more variety and entertainment than ever before. With the ongoing trend of fast-paced, high energy shows garnering the most listeners, this revised timeslot plan is intended to cater more for the needs of the Good Hope FM listener and to connect Cape Town in an exciting new way.

The Breakfast Show, hosted by Guy McDonald is light-hearted, entertaining and informative and will now deliver even more humour, satire, debate and hit music in a shorter time to get listeners up and to work each day, between 06:00 and 08:00. Subsequently, The Nigel Pierce Show has moved to an earlier slot of 08:00 to 11:00. Pierce is known to be popular for his show format that tackles community-related issues, stimulates interesting conversation, features some of the best comedy acts around and covers local and international news stories as they happen.

As one heads later into the day, Stan Mars is on from 11:00 to 14:00 and then comes the introduction of the all new Afternoon Live Show, presented by Carl Wastie from 14:00 to 16:00, daily. He might be short but he packs a punch and his show does the same, while never alienating the older listener, Wastie will cover news from tertiary institutions and schools. Taking the listener home, Fast Forward hosted by Seano and his award-winning team will now be on-air from 16:00 to 19:00, also one hour later than usual. While the end-of-day shows, starting with Ayanda Tini (now from 19:00 to 21:00) who focuses on lifestyle, featuring interviews with celebrities, tips for general wellbeing and fashion trends followed by Hip Hop Grandmaster, Ready D (now on from 21:00 to 23:00) follow suit.

While no time slot changes are affecting listeners’ beloved weekend show line-up, Carl Wastie of the Afternoon Live show will now host the popular Good Hope FM Top 30 show on Saturday morning (09:00 to Noon), previously hosted by long-standing Good Hope FM presenter, Graeme White.

Station Manager, Brendan Ficks believes this strategic intervention will allow Good Hope FM a lot of new opportunity, “We now have an on-air offering that is dynamic, giving our listener a lot of variation and fast-paced content throughout the day and I believe this move is going to put us in a strong position, in what is a highly competitive industry,” says Ficks, “We are excited about the changes and our listeners can be assured our intention is to deliver an even better listening experience with renewed focus and energy.”
