5FM is most excited about their programming additions. In 2014, the station set a trend by kicking off breakfast at 5:00 and in 2015 they are trying something new again. 5FM is adding on a new talk element similar to the popular TED Talks which morning presenter Nick Hamman will play host to. The feature, 5Talks, forms part of 5FM’s CSi Youngblood5 and will see Hamman chatting to motivational South Africans and young achievers in a monthly talk show setting that will translate on air on the Rob Forbes and Fix Show on the third Friday between 15:00 to 16:00.

The Roger Goode Show has altered the Ultimix a little and will refer to their 18:00 to 19:00 segment as The Happy Hour which begins with The Goode Mix until 18:20 and continue with the popular Ultimix until 19:00. Goode promises the mix will be extraordinary, much like himself, and include his mixing mastery of old school hits and the latest releases.

With regards to line-up changes, the weekday line-up remains relatively unaffected where timeslots are concerned. DJ Fresh and his breakfast team remain in their slot between 05:00 and 08:00. Fresh@5 will however, bid farewell to content producer Catherine Grenfell, who will be moving to produce DJ Warras’ show, The 5th Element from 19:00 to 22:00.

On her departure from Fresh’s show, Grenfell says she leaves with so many beautiful memories. “Wow, after almost nine years, I am leaving this beautiful family of the Fresh show. There are so many memories, so many good times, laughs, cries but always a sense of family, loyalty and love. Change is always good and I am excited about this new path that I move onto with Warras  and Tumi.”

Hamman who is on between 08:00 and 10:00 will release smart-as-a-whip newsreader and contributor Kim Schulze, who will be moving to take over news on The Roger Goode Show, afternoon drive time from 16:00 to 19:00. Newsreader, Vic Naidoo has been given an opportunity to host his own show; early Friday mornings from 01:00 to 05:00 and Saturdays and Sundays from 01:00 to 04:00.

The weekends will begin on Friday nights and they’re about to get hotter and louder with Milkshake’s The Shakedown moving to an earlier slot from 19:00 to 22:00. The party continues on Saturdays with Milkshake between 22:00 and 01:00.

Mixi, will continue the Friday party into the weekend from 22:00 to 01:00. Mixi, who has taken over the Ultimix Weekend Edition will also be on air on Saturdays from 19:00 to 22:00 and on Sundays from 17:00 to 19:00.

5FM’s Top 40 Chart Show on Saturdays between 10:00 and 14:00 will be hosted by Nick Hamman, who will be taking over from Sureshnie Rider.

Nicole da Silva takes over Saturdays and Sundays from 14:00 to 17:00, a spot that has been held down by KB for the last few years. On Saturdays, Da Silva will be followed by Tumi Voster, who moves from Sundays 17:00 to 19:00 to Saturdays from 17:00 to 19:00 as part of The Saturday Situation.
