Among the winners were not one, but two of South Africa’s very own talent: Kansai Plascon and POD Communications - both of whom were top to their categories (with POD Communications winning Display of the Year) at the 2014 POPAI SA Awards.

"POPAI Awards are run in 36 countries globally," said Phil Day, director of POPAI UK & Ireland. "To win an award in your local country is deserved recognition of excellence, but to go up against the best-of-the-best from around the world and finish on top of the pile is an outstanding achievement," he adds.

POD Communications topped the Retail Service, Non-food, Permanent Category at the 2015 POPAI Global Awards. "We are thrilled to have been acknowledged and received this most prestigious award," remarked a very excited Di Wilson, CEO of POD Communications on receiving the news of POD’s win. "Thank you goes to our incredible team for developing the concept and to our client (HIPPO) who gave us the opportunity," she continued. 

Tanya Nicholson, brand retail manager at Kansai Plascon, who won Gold in the Mass Merchants, Non-Food, Permanent Category had this to say, "We are incredibly proud and honoured to have received this global accolade. Our focus on innovation to our Plascon brands has been extended into working with our clients to inspire a world-class colour journey in-store for consumers. I feel very privileged to have worked with our clients on this unique project which has been extremely rewarding."
