Rob Truscott, managing director of IMPERIAL Auto, Passenger Vehicles, is delighted to sponsor the Soul Food Trucks through the Lindsay Saker dealership. “IMPERIAL Auto will be donating two  new Volkswagen Caddies to the Soul Food project, one for their Johannesburg branch and one for their  branch in Bloemfontein, which will be used to ensure they are able to continue their good work.”

In addition to the vehicle donation, IMPERIAL Auto has also made a substantial cash donation, which will be used to help cover the salaries of drivers, vehicle insurance, fuel, tracking, tolls and all the other expenses associated with running a Soul Food operation.

Rev. Brent Chalmers, managing trustee of The Soul Provider Trust, is overwhelmed by the generous donation made to his project. “I want to thank IMPERIAL Auto and Lindsay Saker and of course extend our thanks to its shareholders, directors, staff and customers for this wonderful intervention.  Their support will ensure that food is not wasted, but handed to those who need it the most.”

Through IMPERIAL Auto and Lindsay Saker’s assistance, the sponsorship will bring the total of Soul Food operations to four, which operate in: Gauteng, East Rand, KwaZulu-Natal and Free State.

Truscott concludes: “I am pleased we could be a part of the Soul Food initiative, as there truly is nothing more rewarding than knowing we have played a part in helping  those that are less fortunate.”
