Award-winning marketing manager now MSG Group Sales MD

In September 2014, the Power 98.7 head of marketing was entrusted with the task of heading up MSG Group Sales, the newly-formed media sales house that now represents two commercial radio stations, Power 98.7 and Capricorn FM.

In just a few short months, Mazibuko has created a successful venture with some of the country’s best strategists and sales staff and has developed a state-of-the-art bespoke booking system aimed at delivering evolved media buying and placement, as well as optimum utilisation of digital platforms for the stations’ advertisers. MSG Group Sales will also represent two new soon-to-be-launched radio stations in the Free State and Eastern Cape. Mazibuko joined Power 98.7 at its inception in 2013 as the head of marketing and quickly added the management of Corporate Affairs and Government Sales to her portfolio.

Following one of her radio station’s nominations for 16 MTN Radio Awards in 2015, including the prestigious categories Best Afternoon Drive Show, Best Business and Finance Show and Best News and Actuality Presenter, Mazibuko looks back with pride at her invaluable contribution to the stations’ launch in 2013 and its continued success. She also cites the significance of the Best Programme Innovation nomination for their coverage of State Of The Nation Address as a testament to the station’s dominance in the current affairs landscape.

Armed with an enterprising history and through-the-line sales experience Msizi is preparing to continue the recent success of MSG Group Sales and position the entity as media sales house to be reckoned with.

Mazibuko has worked for SABC Radio, Touchline Media and represented a number of commercial radio stations such as Kaya FM, East Coast Radio and Jacaranda FM, to name a few.
