They have announced the appointment of Matthew Partridge as fair director and Laura Vincenti as the architect and special projects manager. Together they will join fair manager, Liza Dyason to form a dynamic team that will take the Cape Town Art Fair into its next chapter. The team aims to develop the event into the premier international contemporary art fair on the African continent.

Holding a master’s degree in art history from Wits University, Partridge has worked as a writer, critic and journalist for publications that include Financial Mail, Business Day, The Sunday Times and the Mail & Guardian.

Partridge is excited about his new role as fair director. He says; “I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to work with some of the leading local and international galleries in order to bring contemporary art from Africa to Cape Town and the world.”

With 10 years of experience working as the principal consult architect for Artissima in Torino, Italy, Vincenti brings with her a working knowledge of international models that will provide the skills needed to bring the Cape Town Art Fair to eyes of the art world.

Speaking about these two new additions to the FMEA team, Dyason says; “With Cape Town providing a beautiful backdrop and with a growing contemporary art market in Africa, the fair will build on its success and provide a space where established and new collectors can sample the very best of what Africa has to offer the art world.”
