Known as Africa Rise, the event is produced by Pride Factor, the youth development academy dedicated to inspiring and guiding young South Africans to become entrepreneurs in order to alleviate the problems of unemployment and poverty.

The speaker programme is headlined by high profile aspirational role models such as international super model and businesswoman Tracy McGregor, iconic local TV presenter Katlego Maboe and the country’s top Superbike rider Lance Isaacs.

Others passionate about passing on their experiences to the next generation at the event include Mr. SA finalist and financial adviser, Calvin Peterson; Miss SA finalist, entrepreneur and presenter, Mishka Patel; international sales trainer, author and motivational speaker, Thaamir Moerat; health expert and TV personality, Darren Green and Morne Marais, the founder of the FABA Foundation anti-bullying campaign.

The Africa Rise workshop will be coordinated and presented by Dene Botha, the founder of Pride Factor and himself an international model, actor, coach and master of ceremonies who has worked with several of the world’s best motivational speakers.

“We have identified that there is a huge need for South Africa to produce many more entrepreneurs to address the ever growing problems of unemployment and poverty,” says Botha.

Recent studies show that the unemployment rate amongst South African youth (under 25) is one of the highest in the world at nearly 50%. At the same time only 11.8% of South African adults have entrepreneurial intentions vs. the 58% who intend to run their own businesses in the rest of sub-Saharan Africa.

“For the Africa Rise workshop we have assembled a team of motivational speakers from a broad range of industries to inspire young adults to identify their passions, hone their skills and develop them into sustainable careers and lifestyles that will create jobs,” explains Botha.

Suitable for young adults at school (Grade 9 and above), in tertiary education or starting out on their careers, as well as their parents, the Africa Rise event will run from 08:00 to 14:00 on Tuesday, 16 June at Roggeland Country House, Bo Daljosafat Road, Paarl. Alongside the speakers the day’s programme includes entertainment, exhibits, food stalls, give-aways, networking opportunities, a VIP area and much more.

There is no charge for attending the Africa Rise inspirational workshop presented by Pride Factor, but all delegates are required pre-book their spot to ensure access to the venue.
