Following the launch of the suburb’s GoGreen community renewable energy initiative, the 2015 Parkhurst Village Fair will have a distinct ‘green’ flavour with various exhibitors displaying their goods to help make the shift to a greener lifestyle.

In addition, the Fair will once again showcase all things quintessentially Parkhurst – from mouthwatering food, an amazing pantry section, craft beers, bespoke retailers, live entertainment and a variety of kids’ activities to name but a few. Children will be spoilt for choice with activities in the kids’ entertainment area, sponsored by Nan Roberts Estates, featuring amongst others a bike track exclusively for kids.

The Parkhurst Village Fair is the flagship event on our annual events calendar and this year’s Fair promises to once again raise the bar for curated urban events in Johannesburg. The event aims to celebrate the things that make Parkhurst – and the wider Parks’ area – the best place to live in the city. Funds raised through the Fair will be applied 100% towards the further improvement of our suburb,” says Cheryl Labuschagne, chairperson of the Parkhurst Residents and Business Owners’ Association (PRABOA).

The event sponsors of the 2015 Parkhurst Village Fair are Aromadough, CMH Cars Volvo Bryanston, CSS Tactical, MWEB, Nan Roberts Estates and The Little Ashford Preschool.

“The rise of Parkhurst has added another dimension to what Joburg has to offer both locals and visitors. It is one of the coolest neighborhoods in the country to live in and an unbelievable destination to experience an authentic street café vibe, great food, coffee, beer, bubbly along with a high street retail experience that you won’t find even in the greatest of our malls. We’re proud to be associated with the Fair and whether you know the area or not, we recommend it very highly as a day out for all Joburgers,” says Eric Bornman, publisher of Joburg Style Magazine.

With a range of fantastic prizes being sponsored, including a night for two at the newly opened Four Seasons The Westcliff and a pair of designer sunnies from Opticien, Fair-goers are encouraged to wear their lucky shoes.

The Parkhurst Village Fair is a full day event, taking place from 10:00 to 16:00. Tickets are being sold online at R50 for adults and R20 for children under 16. Visitors are encouraged to purchase tickets online, as this will enable them to gain “fast track” access to the event via one of two dedicated entrances.

Secure parking is available for a nominal fee at Parkhurst Primary, located on the corner of Second Avenue and Thirteenth Street. All parking funds collected will go towards the upkeep and maintenance of the school.
