The Loeries is a non-profit association dedicated to the recognition of creative excellence in the African brand communications industry. Its annual awards ceremony is recognised as the region's most prestigious creative festival.

“I'm delighted to have been recognised and honoured with the privilege of being selected,” says Tregoning, who will be judging the Ubuntu Award for sustainable marketing. “This award reflects the growing global realisation that business must be sustainable in order to prosper. It recognises brands that not only satisfy business objectives, but also contribute positively to the community and minimise their environmental footprint."

“The award fully reflects Vega’s way of thinking, so I’m really looking forward to getting involved. Awards like this celebrate brand excellence in South Africa and build a culture of performance in our industry. They also build our global reputation,” he says.

This year judging takes place on Monday, 10 August. All entries are judged anonymously on merit based on five criteria: an innovative concept; bringing new and fresh thinking; excellent execution; relevance to the brand; relevance to the target audience and relevance to the chosen medium.
