With comedian Tumi Morake having successfully completed her stint on the series, she will hand over the reins to radio and TV personality Ayanda Mpama.

Affectionately known as Aya, the new OPW host hails from KwaZulu-Natal and holds a music and drama degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. A singer whose talent saw her finish in the top six contestants during SA Idols (2005), she went on to release her debut album in 2007. Since then she’s performed as musician and worked as an MC at numerous corporate functions around South Africa, for both local and international VIPs.

Having also worked as an actress and radio DJ, Mpama is thrilled with her new job on Our Perfect Wedding. “OPW is a successful show that has made Mzansi fall in love with it. I love ‘love’ and being a part of this production means that every weekend I get to meet many different couples from different backgrounds and get to know them which I find exciting. It also means that every Sunday I get to interact with multitudes of viewers. It's any performers dream to be able to reach so many people at one time.”

Commenting on the viewer appeal of the much-loved show Mpama says, “It does well because there is never a dull moment. Each wedding comes with its own flavour and surprises. I'm looking forward to meeting the couples and their families, and witnessing their love stories first hand.”

Currently in its fifth season, Our Perfect Wedding was previously hosted by Phumeza Mdabe (season 3), Brenda Ngxoli (season 2) and Thuli Thabethe (season 1) with each presenter bringing their own unique perspectives and fresh voices to the show. Each episode of the show introduces audiences to an engaged couple as the lovebirds make their final preparations ahead of their wedding day. With everything from behind-the-scenes drama to heart-warming ceremonies, and even highly talked about kisses, OPW documents the real-life journeys of ordinary South Africans as they create their perfect wedding.

Our Perfect Wedding is one of several popular Sunday shows for the channel and draws huge social media commentary as fans exchange their opinions of each episode.
