The Good Sir is the brainchild of urban fashion and lifestyle entrepreneurs, Theo Ngobeni and Zano Sithetho who believe that there is a new generation of South African men that are inspired by the cool-factor, style, panache, strength and the confidence of gentlemen.

Ngobeni and Sithetho were inspired by worldwide trends and a desire to share their own journeys of personal mastery and growth. “Being a gentleman is cool again,” says Ngobeni. “You see the influence in men’s fashion runways, grooming and leisure activities. We are hoping ‘The Good Sir’ will inspire young men not just to look the part, but to act the part as well - to try and be better professionals, brothers, friends and partners, as well as citizens,” he says.

Sithetho adds; “The Good Sir is our modern interpretation of an old adage: Being a male is a matter of birth, being a man is a matter of age, but being a gentleman is a matter of choice.”

The Good Sir team will host a series of dinners, dubbed Dinner with Style, will offer selected participants mentoring from leading experts on style, etiquette, networking, personal leadership as well as responsibility and wealth management. The first dinner will be held on Thursday, 30 July at The Protea Fire & Ice Hotel, Melrose Arch in Johannesburg.

Oude Meester brandy is supporting this quest. “As a brand, we believe the path to mastery follows an evolution, from apprenticeship, to dedicated practice and finally mastery of skill. The Good Sir - Dinner with Style initiative shares these values and we are delighted to be able to help them empower a new generation of gentlemen,” says Jerome Adonis the Oude Meester brand manager.
