5FM listeners might have caught the on-air content over the past couple of days where presenters Nick Hamman and Poppy Ntshongwana have been playing party planners in a bid to put on a musical spectacular.

And after a few strategic phone calls, 5FM and MRP Group are proud to announce a musical launch of social cohesion and nation building, with over 30 South African acts and DJs in a full day event.

This multi music genre event is aimed at generating a feel good spirit that brings together youthful South Africans in the celebration of good music.

5FM have been Living Loud with parties in Cape Town (021 Live Loud) and Durban (031 Live Loud) this year and is now heading to Johannesburg for a spring kick-off.

Featuring live acts by award winning local artists from KO, AKA and Jeremy Loops to The Parlotones, Prime Circle, Black Motion and MiCasa. 5FM’s DJs including Fresh, Roger Goode and Milkshake, will also be performing.

5FM Station Manager Justine Cullinan says; “5FM broadcasts daily with one aim in mind and that is to bring the cultures of youthful South Africans together through the power of music. The station has been planning the launch of a wholly 5FM-owned station property for some time and it’s finally here. Our vision for Joburg Live Loud is to showcase the best in local music on stage for everyone to get together and live loud.”

The production team behind the event is Morris Roda Productions (MRP). MD of MRP Group, Morris Roda says; “We are honoured and humbled to be part of a team which chooses to celebrate who we are as a nation, more especially during Heritage Month. We look forward to a successful event that ticks all those entertainment boxes."

Joburg Live Loud will take place on Saturday, 12 September at Marks Park sports Centre from 10:00 till 21:00. Tickets cost R295 and are available through Computicket and Checkers.
