After months of planning, YSC is extremely excited to launch two new product lines. The first called For Goodness Sake, dubbed the ‘FGS Collection’ and the second called ‘Real City Food’. Most products are authentically handmade and proceeds will go towards the YSC.

In keeping with the belief that “everyone can be a changemaker”, YSC created these products in order to encourage the public to become active citizens. Co-founder of the YSC, Hilary Joseph says, “We're asking parents, businesses and other organizations to support young changemakers in their quest to create a better world. We believe everyone has a part to play in realising YSC’s vision to fire young people’s passion to change the world for the better. Support can be shown by purchasing our products which will enhance the sustainability of this exciting programme.”

The FGS Collection is mostly made up of locally produced and designed accessories for the home and for daywear. When purchasing items from the collection you can look forward to getting your hands on custom made leather and shweshwe laptop bags, enamel cups and interesting perspex and bling items. Certain pieces in the collection have the affirmation themes of ‘Be The Change’ and ‘Africa is in my heart’. Both of these are intended to affirm positive thinking about living in the city.

Real City Food will be showcasing a gift set of herbs which is linked to an indoor hydroponic project that YSC have been piloting. Identifying with urban agriculture, food insecurity and the rapid densification of our city, YSC turned to the innovative process of indoor hydroponics in order to grow top quality herbs, which are then dried and uniquely packaged. Come see and buy the set which includes indoor grown basil, tarragon, thyme, rosemary and origanum. The special drying process locks in the taste, colour and aroma of the herbs, making the Real City Food gift set a kitchen essential.
