Takeoff is a fresh, unique and creative online magazine that’s devoted to take the industry by storm. The content is directly focused on South Africa Providing Illuminating insights into its popular culture and arts. Bringing out the diamonds that are already in S.A, the editorial team just promises to polish it. The aim of Takeoff is to inform and update its readers of trends that circulate across the country as well as their origins, making the magazine a hub of South African entrepreneurs.

This funky online magazine features the latest news from the music, the fashion and the photography industry, there is also a detailed and interesting lifestyle section. The photographic section exhibits the work of JP Hanekom, Oliver Godfrey, Rupert De Beer and Logic Maloma. While the music category looks at all genres of music, from Kweni Experience to Allegra. So far the fashion section of this new magazine features an interview with Chiz Lezothi’s David and Dibo and an interesting look at the Feil Poppie fashion line.

The magazine will belong to its readers and will provide the underrated and upcoming talents with a platform to showcase their talent. Takeoff is an express train of expression where different voices will be given a chance to be heard. Opinions will be viewed on how the urban culture can fuse to other street cultures. Takeoff completely took a different approach from other magazines by not using an authoritative tone to communicating with its readers. It isn’t saying that they know it all, but rather saying “this is what we know, what do you have to share?”

Ilse Roos (Editor in chief)
JP hanekom (Photographer)
