Relying on the internet for all the information

by Melanie Heyns on 10 April 2012

I am one of those people who searched on Google when I want to know anything about a company, shop, business or restaurant. This means that if I am unable to find the information I need online, I instantly begin to have reservations.

I am an avid shopper, so I am always looking for a ‘best deal’ or any kind of bargain. I recently found out about a factory store for one of my favourite clothing stores. While, there was no website for it, someone had written a blog about how wonderful it was. The blogger said she went to the factory outlet to buy the majority of her clothes and she was never disappointed with what was on offer.

Despite our better judgment, my sister and I decided to visit the factory outlet for ourselves. We arrived at the store and were pleasantly surprised by the size of the place (this made up for the dodgy area it was located in). It was only on closer inspection of the clothes, that we discovered this factory store was not all it was cracked up to be. The clothes on the shelves were either extremely dirty, or covered in holes, had undone stitches or a sleeve was longer than the other.

The whole experience just reiterated for me, why I prefer it when there is a website about the company, shop, restaurant or business so that I can Google map the area to view the street and also, so that I can view any photos that might be available on the website so I can judge the look of the place.
