Consumers of premium whisky will soon be able to experience what goes into creating the dynamic deliciousness of Scotch, through a series of sensory parties all over the country.

The Johnnie Walker Red Dynamic Together experience is hosted in unusual settings all over South Africa which have been transformed to portray relatively remote areas of Scotland like the Isle of Sky. The experience incorporates the burning of peat to show how scotch gets its smoky flavour.

It’s all part of getting to know more about the amazing way in which whisky is handcrafted. Consumers will also get to taste some of the 35 different whiskies that make up Johnnie Walker Red Label and learn how each contributes to the blend’s flavour.

Starting from the end of October in Durban and then moving to Johannesburg, Cape Town and next year to Bloemfontein and Port Elizabeth, consumers are in for a fantastic treat.

Anneke McKenzie, Brand Manager for Johnnie Walker Red says the events will be a true celebration of the dynamic character of the whisky blended with a new collaboration between musician and DJ, a special effect dance floor and other sensational décor.

“The experience will be in unexpected spaces, for example unused buildings that will be totally transformed. A number of unexpected activities in a number of different ‘rooms’ or sections are planned, each a complete sensory experience in itself.

“It’s part experience and part party, so consumers will be able to relax and enjoy the whisky with a great DJ, Richard Marshall and top musician, Lee Thompson, collaborating for the first time. To further drive the message home, we have even chosen true fusion food to celebrate this great blend.”

Richard Marshall who frequently appears both in clubs, events and at music festivals all over South Africa including at Rocking the Daisies, Earthdance, the Loerie awards and the 2008 Cape Town Fashion Week, is regarded as on of SA’s best DJ’s.

Lee Thompson has worked with Springbok Nude Girls, Freshlyground, Fuzigish, Hog Hoggidy Hog Golliwog, Restless Natives, Closet Snare and was part of Silent Revolution. He has also toured SA, Europe and South America with various bands.

A highlight of the experience will be the GestureFX interactive floor in one of the rooms, which is designed to translate movements visually onto a huge wall mounted screen to dramatic effect.
