Film, Press, Outdoor, Direct, Media, Cyber, Radio, Promo & Activation, Titanium & Integrated, Design, PR, Film Craft, Creative Effectiveness, Mobile and Branded Content & Entertainment will all be judged and awarded by the dedicated juries in Cannes, France, in June. The entry deadlines for the categories are as follows:

9 March: Film, Film Craft, Outdoor, Press, Design, Direct, Media, Radio, PR, Promo & Activation, Cyber, Titanium, Integrated, Mobile and Branded Content & Entertainment Lions

New to Cannes Lions 2012:

Mobile Lions:
The new Mobile Lions will reward the best work which lives on or is activated by a mobile device, app or mobile web. The judging criteria will be based on creativity and the idea, execution (usability, user experience, craft and design), relevance to the mobile platform and results (level of user engagement and any quantifiable outcomes). The categories for the new Mobile Lions will include Creative Use of Technology, Mobile Websites and Web Apps, Mobile Apps, Tablet Apps, Games, Rich Media Mobile Advertising and Integrated Campaigns led by Mobile. Mobile Lions is sponsored by AT&T AdWorks.

Branded Content and Entertainment Lions:
This new category will award the best work that demonstrates how a brand has successfully worked independently or in association with a content producer or publisher to develop and create or co-create entertaining and engaging content for their audience. This could be either by creating original content or programming for a brand or by naturally integrating a brand into existing formats by partnering with a publisher or media partner.

Tips on how to enter videos:
To assist this year’s entrants, a selection of Tips on How to Enter videos from last year’s Grand Prix winners are available to view on www.canneslions.com. The short films discuss the entry and the various presentational techniques used for presenting the work for judging. In addition there are some Tips on How to Enter videos from past jury presidents and jurors offering advice on creating an entry and how to capture the jury’s attention.

All the work entered for the Cannes Lions awards, across all categories, can be viewed in the Palais des Festivals at screenings and on interactive kiosks, providing delegates with a unique opportunity to see more than 29 000 pieces of creative advertising and communication from around the world. Additionally all the shortlisted and winning work will be exhibited and screened, enabling attendees to be inspired by the best and most innovative and creative work in the industry.

The 2012 Cannes Lions winners will be revealed and honoured on the following days:

Tuesday, 19 June: Creative Effectiveness, Media, Mobile and Outdoor
Wednesday, 20 June: Press, Design, Radio and Cyber
