The Sanlam Private Investments ‘Genius’ campaign was directed by Robin Goode of Giant Films for the King James Group.

James Matthes, co-founder and composer of Pressure Cooker Studios, says that they were briefed to create a score that stepped away from the sentimental approach associated with many other financial institutions advertising.

“We tried to steer away from traditional orchestration, instead relying on a massive drum score accompanied by organs, synths and horns,” he says. “The result being a soundtrack heavily laden with low bass rumbles, jarring synth effects and epic rises, taking the viewer on an emotionally turbulent ride that was the Rumble in the Jungle.”

Pressure Cooker Studios were also a part of many other award winning campaigns which they did both the music and final mix on, such as Sanlam’s One Rand Man and Johnnie Walker’s The Gentleman’s Wager.

“Arcade and King James have been leading the charge with these Branded Content campaigns and we are incredibly excited to have been a part of their success,” concludes Matthes.

These latest accolades add to their previous awards at the SAFTA’s, SAMA’s and Cannes Lions.
