“My function involves PR, assisting in developing and maintaining Cinemark’s brand, more particularly in the B2B marketplace. I play a role in working towards increased and more relevant coverage in industry journals and websites too,” explains Setlogelo.

Her role also includes corporate identity and branding (creating and reinforcing brand awareness among staff and clients); working on the Cannes Lions advertising festival; and assisting in developing and maintaining appropriate sales tools to ensure accurate information is consistently available for the sales process and marketing strategy (implementing the department’s marketing strategy, ensuring the marketing function performs within set financial measures and ensuring ROIs on executed campaigns).

As someone who conducted brand activations and promotions on weekends and during holidays while a student, Setlogelo has worked her way up from a receptionist working towards a qualification in Media Practice, to where she is now – a marketing assistant for a reputable cinema sales company.

She says; “I think what makes me stand out is that I am not afraid to try new things and to put myself out there. I believe that is a valuable asset.”

Described as bright and quick-witted by colleagues and friends, Setlogelo says she would be an on-air personality or an actress if she wasn’t in the media business. “I have a passion for stories and bringing them to life through either production or performance”.

Dying to go to New York City and addicted to films and series, this dynamic lass is thrilled to a part of the Cinemark team. Ambitious and passionate about the industry, her personal motto is that “thoughts become things”.
